Well i start to hear small noise coming from the bottom part of the block.U can hear it from top but when u go down by the driver side wheel u can hear better.It start doing it thursday so i havent driven the car since.I changed the oil and filter and i used oil treatment too.On the old oil i didnt see any metal shaving.Whenever i got the car started i let it worm up (cus u cant hear it till the engine is worm) so the engine got to normal temp and rev the car to like 1.5 rpm and i can still hear it.I think is a rod bearing but i wanted know what u guys think.Also im goin to drop the oil pan this weekend and see if there's any metal shaving.Also im planning on doin the bearings having the engine in the car.Any of u have done this?Also i unplug each spark plug to so see which cylinder is making the noise but it doesnt stop while having the spark plug out (one at the time).Let me know what u guys think.

This job can be done in car but its a bitch. Also if the crank is scared you may need to pull the motor to replace the crank.

 

I will take a look to the crank too.

 

you might be better off just finding another shortblock. they're dirt cheap.

 

Well i have one in hold just in case the crank shaft is messed up.Any other inputs?

 

I have done several in the car man but honestly it's not the best way to do it. Once it loosens up and starts to knock, it will start doing damage right away so even though nothing may be visible to the eye, the damage is still there.

It may live a little while but chances are it will start to knock again sooner rather than later. I would just replace the short block if it were me or spend the cash to have the rod end honed and the crank polished and install all new bearings.

 

Good advise.Ill go and put the new bearings and drive it till knocks again and then ill put the other block.
