Default 350Z exhaust on a Prelude

Hey all,

I have a 97 base lude and have been toying with the idea of making a custom exhaust using 2.5" piping and running it into a custom mounted stock 350Z exhaust. I like the way it sounds on the Z or the Nissan Murano and think it would be an upgrade from stock but still have a nice quiet tone to it. what do you guys think?

Putting a 350z exhaust on the car will not make it sound like a 350z.

I had that on my civic with a megan header and test pipe. But my goal with this to have a nice looking, sounding, performing exhaust that isn't too loud. Not saying the WS2 was too loud but I like how the 350Z exhaust has that quiet higher pitched ferrari sound to it.

I understand that. But if anything wouldn't it be even a little quieter?

I have a WS1 and it does not sound like the the 350z. Unfortunatly you can only do so much with a small 4 cylinder exhaust note. The best you can do is get a deep exhaust tone and in all that has never been too impressive to me.

OMG NO.

It's a nice fantasy, but if you do it you will regret it afterwards.

dude, mounting any exhaust that isn't following th same exact path as oem will hang REALLY low not matter what you do. my ws2 exhaust bottoms out at stock ride height on oem sized 205/55/15's you won't have a chance to clear any bumps with a 350Z exhaust mounted how you want it. if you do find a way, it'll be a PITa

If you want quiet, get a stock exhaust.
Mine's stock and no obnoxious ricer sound from any brand of exhausts.

Bro....350's are 6bangers and preludes are 4.It wouldnt even sound close.Find an exaust that sound good on ur car, because I like the sound of a 67 camaro w headers 3" pipe straight to a flowmaster, but it would be a joke on my 93 prelude.

It sounds like an interesting idea, but I'm not sure how well it would fit on a Prelude. It's a big transverse muffler, single in and dual outs.

dude ur a ricer, a 350z is a 3.5l v6 your car is a 2.2 or 2.3 l I4 there is no way in hell to make your 4 banger sound like a 350z. get a 350 if you like the sound so much.

well the WS2 doesnt come with 2.5" piping. it comes with 66mm.

you probably just got the muffler (which is straight through) and welded it to the piping....

the ACTUAL WS2 exhaust system has a chambered muffler.

Speechless. The motor is the primary influence to an exhaust note. Speechless........................................ ............................................
As others have said you CAN'T make a I4 sound like a V6.
