So you just want to do the belt?
You could pay $350+, OR get a Helms manual for around $60-70 and the parts for another $100 and do it yourself. Save some $$ and gain experience.

where the hell can you get timing belt replacement parts for $100 OEM? i'm up to about $400 (manual tensioner conversion included) on mine in just parts... (belts, tensioners, water pump, etc...)

Well, depends on what you already have (all I needed when I did mine was a TB, because my H23 already had a manual tensioner and the water pump was only about a year old). If you bought all the stuff for a manual conversion, that's going to be a lot more than if all you need is a timing belt.
If a shop was only going to charge him $350 he probably wasn't going to be getting many new parts...though that may have been just the labor...

Get one from ebay or http://www.helminc.com. You may find one cheaper on ebay, and you want the shop manual, not the electrical or body repair manual. Parts can be had from http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com or http://www.slhondaparts.com.
What engine do you have? If you have an H22, you really should do the manual tensioner conversion. Search and there's lots of topics on it.

Sorry, forgot it was a 3rd gen. You have either a B20 or B21. There's no manual tensioner conversion you need to wory about for those.
Ask him why the timing belt needs to be changed. If it broke, some of the valves could have bent, which is going to require removing the head and replacing some valves, which is WAY more than changing a belt.
See if you can get some more specific info from him and then we can help you better.
