I have a obd 2 y7 Auto that I need to swap the tranny on. I've sourced a y8 auto tranny with tq converter for cheep...I know these should be a one for one swap but I was curious about the auto computer for it. Do the tranny's have seperate computers for just the tranny in addtion to the motor ECU? Just want to make sure I have all my ducks in row.

The ecu is going to tell the trans to shift at a certain point. It doesnt matter what trans you have as long as you reach that point its going to want to shift. Same concept as when you swap manuals. Your just going to be shifting earlier. AKA youll be fine
