Default head gasket question (searched :(........)

ok so here is my issue. a block i have has steal orings.... and is assembled and am not trying to deck it. My question is will i be ok with a oem head gasket or is it a must that i run a copper one. And if it is a must for the copper do i also have to have my head cut for the oring? i havnt dealt with many oringed motors and that is why i am turning to you guys. any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

Joel

you dont use a steel o ring/steel gasket, it wont crush enough, and probably end up distorting something in the block. i wouil have to say depending on how high the o ring sits out of the top of the sleeve is when you would need to determine whether or not to cut the reciever groove into the head.

steel oring -- > copper gasket (copper spray'd)

copper oring---> steel gasket (copper spray'd)

I used to run AEBS blocks with stainless o-rings and a stock gasket and never had issues just make sure the clearance is correct on the o-ring
