Default b-series help

I have a b18a1 engine in my 91 civic hatchback. I just bought a bottomend that was rebuilt and bored .20 over with oversized ls pistons in it. I had the head shaved, and installed a new clutch kit. I am running a b16 tranny w/ act 6-puck clutch kit. I have a dc sports 4-2-1 header, testpipe, and full 2.5" tenrai exhaust system. I have a aem short ram intake and a short ahifter. Im trying to get mroe power out of my engine, without spending an arm and a leg doing it. The engine only has 400 miles on it so im trying to do some things now while its fresh. Can anyone tell me what i could do or buy to help me out? Is there anything i can do at home to get more power? I have a real bad problem with traction too. The car has 16" kobe literace wheels on it with nexem tires, and i cannot keep them from spinning off the line. they spin through 2nd gear all day long. how can i prevent this? can anyone help me at all with any suggestions?

Use better tires to cut spinning.

Once bolt ons are done it's time to really plan what you are doing with the motor, you have some headwork already go with a cam kit

research crowers LS line of cams and pick acording to what will work for you.

What ecu are you using? I'd suggest get a programmable one so you can get it tuned well...hence more power.

I think it is just a stock ls ecu i have a spoon chip for it but i never installed because i had to solder it in and everything. I was told i could polish the stock throttle body and it would help a tiny bit. Is that true or is that just a bunch of crap ?

No...anything to enhance more airflow into the motor with a balance of fuel and of course, free flowing exhaust will make good power. That's pretty much the key
