Default Ok TYC 1 piece projectors with HID kit for EG's Pics

Ok I know this topic has come up ALOT and was one I was trying to find answers for. I finally said screw it and bought a kit to put in my TYC projectors on my civic. These are the results for anyone wondering what it looks like.

First off let me stress these are the regular TYC headlights not the HID ones that are $500. Next these healight use H1 bulbs. The kit I got was from ebay and the bulbs fit with no modification at all to the headlight housing.

Results

Light shot

Light close

Cutoff close

Cutoff at about 10-15 feet (excuse the messy garage)

All and all I am very happy with the results and I think anyone that des this will also be happy. The lights are incredibly bright and I can see much better at night. The kit fit perfectly and was very easy to install and provided everything including instructions.

Here is the kit I bought.

Any haters that want to thread bash can leave now as I did this so anyone out there with the question of how P&P HID's look in these headlights can have a good referance. Please ask any question as I will try and answer them as best as I can.

So its the TYC headlight with a plug and play hid kit? Turned out nice, I always heard that plug and play kits won't work with projectors. for having the ***** to try this.

I knew it would work just how much time and effort would be needed. I was not willing to hack up the headlights but everything fit perfect. Honestly I think this a great alternative to doing the retro fit in these headlights. The cutoff result I got is just as good as the pictures of any retro fit I have seen. The light is brilliant and clear. And I paid less than $300 for everything shipped to my door and installed by me.

I see this topic often and there is rarely if ever a picture or a definate yes or no. Well this gets a definate yes from me.

Oh and another thing. Yes I can still use the high beam function on the headlight (the ones on the left in the close up pic) but honestly the HID's are WAY brighter than those but still nice.

More pics.

Street with just parking lights on.

Hid's on

Standing at the mail box looking at the car. These things are crazy bright. Note cmera is at headlight height so no this is not what other drivers see.

Sitting inside the car different street.

Hope that is good. I am not taking anymore tonight.

They look great man. But still, those are aimed too high. Aim those nuckas down and you get 10

Nope. The projectors turn off when you turn on the high beams. Just like they are supposed to.

As for the adjustments I have been told by several people that saw them in person they are to low! Hah go figure. They light up the road and roadsigns very nicely as well as anything ahead of me. If they are a bit high then its payback for all these ******* SUVs with lights that shine right into my back window.

x2 Amen to that x 11

Maybe you were just on a hill or something. Hard to tell by pictures. But if you're friends think they are too low, then maybe not. Drive around and see if other drivers flash you, if so, lower em a bit. If not you're all good.

I keep my car really clean and garaged so foging should be bad. I have had the headlights for a while now and no fog yet.

hum...on the HIGH LEVELED pic, it looks like the road is kindda going downhill a bit or am i trippin???...maybe thats the reason you cant get a nice pic....and the second pic, too bad it isnt your car...the cutoff looks awsome...i would def get them for HID's but i just dont like the one piece look...i dont know...not really feeling the way they look...but hey, thats why you get a better cutoff of your HIDs compare to me...mine go everywhere...

BTW. do you guys think these headlights would give a better cutoff with casper shields???better then stock headlights but i know it wont compare to projectors....but i dont like projectors on 5th gen civics...anyone know who makes these???i dont want to create a thread about them...TIA

You also have to realize how these 2 pic are completely different. Your pic has the car right next to the wall. The pic with my car has about 10 feet between the side of my car and the wall. On top of that I am taking the picture from inside my car not outside from the side. I dunno I am going to drive it around a bit and see how it does. Any problems and then I will adjust them.

Um okay here:

Now unless you are parked on the crest of a hill your lights should be aimed level/flat from the front of your car, notice how the cut off line is higher further down the wall the farther away it gets from the car? I've never lit up the top of a house when on flat ground. The distance of the pics does not change the cut of line, if the the lights are aimed high they will show at any angle at any distance (thus the top of the house being lit up).

Now I'm not telling you that you are stupid or trying to be rude, simply trying to show you what the cut off looks like when it's aimed level vs aimed high.
