Multiple Car Audio Questions!!! Pretty PLEASE!
Hi,
I am not your typical car enthusiast person, so I apologize for any silly questions. And thanks in advance for your help!
My car info:
Honda Accord LX-SE 2006 (nothing added or removed. everything straight from dealership). So basically stock 6-disk changer. No aux input in front.
So here are my questions:
1. How can I access my car antenna? Where is it?
2. Does the car stereo have an aux input in the back? Or do I have to get an FM modulator?
3. What company makes my car stereo? Where can I get more information on my car stereo? I'm looking for an owners manual for the stereo if it exists.
My main concern is figuring out how to listen to my non-iPod mp3 player (Creative Zen Vision) w/o dealing with too much installation hassle if I don't have to. I'm a girl with ZERO car mod. experience. I am interested in doing it myself instead of going to a car stereo place (as my last experience was really bad).
Again, thanks for any info you can give me!

The car stereo you have now is made by honda I assume
If you can't physically see an antenna then your antenna is actually a part of your rear window. Since the car is an SE then I highly doubt you have the AUX input in the back. Your easiest option is the FM modulator. sorry if this wasn't of any help.

Alpine makes the stereo for honda. There is no aux input in the back of any factory head unit. You need to either get an FM modulator, or consider changing the deck. Your antenna is mounted on the roof if i'm not mistaken. Its a flush mount if I remember correctly. in the middle of the roof, right on top of the rear window.
yeah. it's probably mounted on my roof. but i dont have one of those antenna box things that stick out on top. would you happen to have any idea of how to improve the reception? mine seems to really be sucky.
i was thinking of maybe ghetto rigging it by using a wire fm antenna (from my house stereo or whatever) and connecting it to some sort of fm transmitter so wont have to take my car apart. pretty dumb idea?

I think the antenna sticking up on the roof is for GPS/navigation.
I've seen small antenna amplifiers that go in-line with the antenna cable going to the stereo. But I don't know how well they work...
You probably aren't gonna find a stereo manual besides the section in your car's owner's manual. Car companies generally get stereo companies to make special units that aren't the same as the ones sold aftermarket.
Crutchfield has something about iPod adapters, but I didn't read enough to know how much of this is good information for non-iPod mp3 players.
