Default How to program 2004 Acura TL alarm (OEM) remote?

Just curious as the topic says. I've seen instructions for '03 and older TL's, but nothing for the '04+ generation. Anyone know if it could possibly be the same? Unless told specifically not too, I'm probably going to try anyway.

Here's why! To make it short... I did a swap for my friend past weekend, moved my parent's cars out of the garage, lost my dad's TL primary set of keys somewhere in there, and now have to buy him a new set.

He checked today and Acura charges ~$50 for the key, ~$90 for the remote, and $110 for programming. And I hate paying dealerships for labor, especially if it's something I can do myself, but if it's not something I can do without a special computer/electronics, then whatever.

Thanks in advance!!!

is the remote built into the key? i think the programming charge is also to program in the immobilizer which tells the car its the correct key and allows it to start the car.

No, they're separate on his TL. And I wasn't sure about the immobilizer coding, only because I had a friend get a new pair of keys when I did her aftermarket alarm on her '00 Accord last year, and those were only $20 each from Honda. That being said, I figured the keys were a set price, and the syncing of the remote fell into the "programming" fee.

Thanks, anyone else?
