Default tranny question

i did a search on H-T and no one had this problem. the thing with my tranny is, its hard to get into 1st and reverse ONLY. i would have to force it in. do you guys think it is the clutch??

you have to bleed the oil in the lines it has air in it. and check to see if u have oil in the

reservoir let me know if that work .

well this happen after the tranny swap. the guy just called me today and he said it was the clutch.

Don't you think that if it was the clutch then it would do it in all gears? Mechanics always do this, they'll tell you that so you pay them to fix it and then when that doesn't work they just move down the list of possibilities. It could be bad synchros, that would really suck though since you just had the tranny replaced. If your're lucky it will be either the master or slave cylinder, if you're really lucky, it'll be the slave cylinder, the master is a little hard to get to. For now i would look for a good additive to put in the tranny, lucas oil is supposed to work wonders.

its your tranny not your clutch. when a teanny is bad the first gears to go are 1st and R it does suck but the guy who posted above me is right

I have a weird problem where it is physically hard for me to get my shifter into first and reverse. Not hard to get the car moving in either gear but actually hard to move the shift **** into first and reverse. All other gears are smooth and have no problems. Is this the same problem you are having or are you having trouble actually engaging the gear?
