Default LACking Power.......

97 ex 4dr. just recently had honda emissions tune up which includes new plugs wires cap and rotor. egr ports are cleaned and new egr valve installed by honda recently. it has an aem cai but other than that its stock.

lately its been giving me trouble when i start it and sometimes wont start (starter?????). when it does it idles really wierd slow at first and then up and down.

MY Main Concern: i have noticed a decrease in power (i have to push harder on the gas to go a given speed than i did before)

any ideas???????on any part of my problems????

check the cel first and see what it says

They might have adjusted your throttle cable. Are the RPMs the same at a given speed as they were before?

Get it compression tested. I went through the same thing in my 200sx. And it turned out to be a blown head gasket.

If you have a blown head gasket, its probally cause by the head warping. So, id get your head milled ($100) and your also gonna need new head studs. You should never re-use OEM head studs, i belive ARP head studs are reusable to e certain extent. Heres how to do a compression test...

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by lax1089 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">okay the CEL was two codes:

according to my source P1399 means "glow plug circuit high side, high input"

i dont know what the hell that means though, lol sounds like something for diesels. glow plugs?
