Just curious if I understood the question correctly, the ground that attaches to the valve cover? My car wouldn't start without it attached...are we thinking of the same ground?

i didnt mewan your car sucks really i was kidding
but the only reason you might have probelsm is if your missing like 90 percent of the grounds in the engine bay
which would be ahrd to do

nah u don't need it. it will work fine without it. just reground some wires elsewhere like on the block.

then u might want to check all your grounds. u dont have to have that specific ground on the valvecover for your car to start. if u have a ground on the block for instance. then the head is automactically grounded, because its mated to the block. its pretty basic electrical

my girlfriend changed her valve cover from the obd1 ls to the obd2, had the ground there and the car wouldn't start, couldn't even pop the clutch, moved the ground and it fired right up.

I moved mine to make it a little cleaner, car runs just as good with it grounded on the valve cover.
