The fog lamps are H3, but putting an HID kit in them is not a good idea.

A) The colour temperature of HID lighting is not ideal for fog lamp use.

B) The HID kit will over-power the halogen optics of the lamp and result in a poor beam pattern with excessive glare - exactly what you don't want in a fog lamp.

C) H3 bulbs use a horizontal filament to produce light, while HID capsules have a vertical arc where the light is generated. This difference further compromises the beam pattern when trying to use a plug-and-play HID kit with any sort of H3 halogen lamps.

The fog lamps are H3. Headlamps are H4.
