Default VAFC on F22ax : Will I get a CEL?

Hi all,

I've scoured the site, but just can't find the info I'm looking for. I was given a VAFC I for free from a friend and I would like to try and install it on my car.

I have an F22a1 non-VTEC. Now, I know the VAFC will control a VTEC motor, but I'm just wondering if I could install it on my non-VTEC motor. I was searching the Apex'i website and the pinouts work, minus the VTM signal and the VTEC pressure pinout.

Can I install this and tune using the low cam settings? Will I instead run into a CEL for not having the VTM and VTEC pressure thing hooked up correctly? I'm just trying to gauge if this is worthwhile to do

I've heard of people using VAFC's on non-VTEC motors, but I'd just like some confirmation.

I'd love to get this working, because it's just one of those dumb parts I've wanted forever. I don't want to sell it, and yes, I know Uber, Crome and Ostrich probably are better, but this is an old school part to a point, and I'm an old school guy.

Thank you.

Welp, after a good 3 hours of searching, I found the answer.

Everything I've read says they're essentially identical, minus the VTEC control.

So I'm gonna try it out. If anyone knows anything i don't as far as this, feel free to let me know.

Thanks again.
