What are the best coilovers?
So i'm going to be buying coils sometime in the next week or two for my 92 civic and i'm just wondering what are the best for the money. I want something with a nice drop and smooth ride for a daily driver. I've looked on the sponsor marketplace and i can get ksports for 600 shipped and function and forms for 800 shipped. I've heard good and bad things about the ksports and only good things about the function and forms, but i'd rather spend a little less on coils since i dont really need a serious set up. Let me know what you guys think of these coils or any other ones that you think are good for under 1000.
The best coilovers are Zeal or Aragosta.
The best for your needs is going to be something like the Tein Basic. Those will give you a smooth ride, height adjustability, and are under $1000. Plus they are from Tein so they won't blow in a year unlike the other junk you listed.

Koni and Ground Control= game over. With all the options, these are THE perfect coilovers, you can get anything from different damping to different spring rates. However, for you, an off the shelf model will be fine. And get the tophats if you plan on riding slammed.

I would agree, Tein is nothing but over-hyped JDM Rice, unless you get the top models

I have a 94 EX coupe DD rolling on a KYB AGX/SKunk2 combo that feels pretty alright for the price. The struts were $320 shipped off of ebay, and the springs which are about $315. Comfy combo that holds the road through really hard turns.
On the other hand I have my Auto-X del Sol, sitting on the BC N+ damper, and it is incredible, the car goes everywhere you tell it to, and rides suprisingly smooth. That kit cost about $1000, and let me tell you, for that price, your ripping off Buddy Club.
If your interested, I know a guy selling a used Ohlins setup for like $800 up here in AK. PM me if interested.

Even then, its not that good. Especially for the money. Even the upper range stuff has lots of crosstalk in the adjusters and an unacceptable amount of shock fade.

PIC performance coilovers!
i've been looking for a REALLY good setup for my hatch project.. i've had agx's+sleeves, and koni sports + sleeves in the past.. neither cut it.
right now i'm looking at either koniRACEshocks + gc's, or PIC select..
the fact that PIC select are even comparable to koni race shocks says a lot.
if I were choosing a setup that didn't have to be best of the best, I'd pick PIC over koni SPORT in a heartbeat.

Please educate yourself before you make any further such comments that could hinder your credibility. If you had any knowledge of either company you would understand the stupidity of your statement.
JDM has nothing to do with it. Aragosta is not a JDM product, but of course you would know that if you had bothered to educate yourself.
So before you go on the typical "defensive" of inferior products and trying to justify them, I suggest you read a little, and research your arguments before you decide to type another word.

We have all seen Zeal dynos, I owned a set of Function-X's with Swift springs and wasn't at all impressed, their adjustment had a lot of crosstalk and they faded on the track after a few laps. I am not familiar with Aragosta and haven't used any of their products, so I will refrain from commenting on them until I have personal experience.

Umm, I suggest YOU do a little more research before recommending some BS product just because of its origin. Zeal is not that good of a coilover, ESPECIALLY when price is taken into account. Not to mention that there is a reason I have never heard of Aragosta. The reason you recommended these brands is because you wanted to appear to have a wide array of knowledge on suspension setups, and wanted to pull the H-T bandwagon "JDM coilovers are the best" statement. When the fact of the matter is that you know nothing. So I dare you to show me a coilover from either Zeal or Aragosta in the price range of the GC/Koni setup that even comes close to comparing.
