Default Hey R_Status, lets work this out already....

We met up and worked it out tonight. I think we could both be happier with the outcome, but we comprimised, and I have to give him credit for meeting up with me and working this out. It is more than a lot of people would do.

On another note, I now have a hydro LS tranny for sale. It seems to be in good condition, pretty clean, looks like low mileage.
$350 firm. pm me if you are interested.

welcome to the internet and honda-tech northwest market place. doing business on here is like sticking your dick in a vacuum... in the end, you kinda getting fucked.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by MatHadder &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Alright, here's the deal. Almost three months ago, I met up with R_Status and purchased what he was selling as a gsr transmission. It looked like it was in good condition, and I know he has lots of friends on here, and seems to be a legit seller, so I basically assumed it was what he said it was. When I got home, I looked up the gsr gear ratios, and checked it by counting how many times the diff turned in relationship to how many times I turned the input shaft. The gear ratios matched exactly with a LS transmission, not a gsr transmission.

I emailed him almost immediatly, and have been able to contact him several times since then, but he is always too busy to meet up with me, or is having trouble with his car, or something. However, as I mentioned before, it has been almost three months, and I am just getting tired of hearing excuses.

I didnt want to have to post a thread about this, and I dont want to get into a big e-thug battle or anything. I know he has lots of friends on here, and I know you guys will vouch for him. I haven't dealt with as many people on here, but I think the people I have bought and sold from can vouch for me being an honest guy.

Anyway, all I want is to meet up with you, give you the tranny back, and get my money back. you should have my phone number, I have given it to you at least six times. If you dont, let me know and I will PM it to you again. I will gladly delete this thread as soon as this is resolved.</TD></TR></TABLE>

But it shouldn't be that way. Alot of people i know work hard to buy parts, and sometimes there are good deals on H-T. But for a few people to ruin it...that sucks. Hopefully this gets resolved soon because ive talked to R_status and he seems like a good guys.

only because of people like you with that attitude. its all the bad sellers that make it that much harder for honest people to do business on here.

Okay I sell lots and lots of stuff. And you should tell the people on here that I did not sell you this transmission as mine. You talked to my freind. I just came to collect the cash. Secondly this was a craigslist transaction not a hondatech one. I have never sold you anything that I PERSONALLY OWN. Matthadder, I have been talking to you, You have a schedule, And I have a schedule. You have my number and I keep on losing yours. I sold that tranny to you from a freind. I was told what it was, and I just want to see myself. Its still hard to believe that you think its an LS transmission when its never been in a car, or been opened (so you say). Im not a scammer. You should just call me. . Leave a voicemail If I dont pick up. I do go to school full time, and I have alot of other things going on. I have been talking to you. I would have just appreciated it more if you would have pM'd me instead of doing this. Which I asked not to do. But whatever. Im not a scammer, and I have offered to make it right. Call me. I just PM'd you again. I have been trying to resolve it.

For all you people that have something retarded to say. . this thread wasnt made for people to bash me. . he just wanted to get a hold of me. .. and everyone that has something dumb to say. . I will be happy to return the favor one day. . . .

It isnt? How would you suggest figuring out the gear ratios?
Call me crazy, but I am pretty sure the gear ratio is the ratio between the input shaft speed and the differential speed, as long as you take the final drive ratio into accout...
I guess cracking the tranny open and counting teeth would be more accurate, but seriously, the ratios between a gsr tranny and a ls tranny are different enough that it isnt really a question.

Why dont you just run the vin tag #s through car fax? You dont have to pay for it just enter them in and it will tell you the year, make, model, and trim level of the car it came off of

Willing to bet that its a 94-95 Transmission(no holes for the vin plaque), and still has the S80 (both gsr and ls have s80) sticker on it you fat expletive??? What about the Stolen b16a2 tranny you just sold to ryan champ and the b16 head you just gave to him??? I actually seen vin plaque bolts broken inside that tranny

No, it isn't. Open the tranny, if you want definitive proof. Count the number of teeth on the gears on the main shaft and divide that by the number of teeth on the counter shaft.

I think someone really questioning a tranny would have done this.... Oh well, do it now.

Yeah, I kind of figured that is what you were going to say. Seriously, though, have you ever looked at the gear ratio difference between an ls and a gsr tranny? You really dont need to know the gear ratio out to three decimal places to tell the difference; it is significant.

On another note, I dont consider it to be my tranny. It isnt what I purchased, so I am just holding on to it for R_Status until I get my money back. As of right now, it appears to be a stock, unopened tranny. When I got the tranny, i roughly checked the gear ratio's and determined that it was an ls tranny. At this point, I am still hopefull that I will get my money back, and I think opening the tranny will make that harder to do. If he refuses to take it back, you can bet your *** the next day there will be pictures of of the tranny pulled apart with gear counts for every gear. Until then, I am just doing him the favor of making it as easy to resell as I can.

While it is annoying how long it has taken to resolve this thing, I would still like to think that this is mostly a misunderstanding, and not a deliberate attempt to rip me off. With that in mind, i am going to do my best to treat his property with respect until I return it to him.

You all must be SMOKING CRACK if you think that turning shafts and counting the ratios of turns will not tell you gear ratios. Go back to elementary school and take some physics classis. Jeezus.

The only remotely complicated thing about it is that you have to divide out the final reduction to get the actual gear ratio of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc....

For those needing further reference, may I suggest reading this article? ---&gt; http://science.howstuffworks.com/gear-ratio2.htm

R_Status the man! Haha, awesome stuff. I've dealt with that Caleb Wilson guy a couple times and i've been told some crazy stuff about him and maybe what I heard translates to what you call those 'Vancouver guys'. Many of you may see my ads on craigslist, i've sold many random parts off of my Civic EX and everyone's been happy with them. Whenever I have a super cheap part for sale, I always see this Caleb guys name through e-mail. He usually starts it off with a lowball offer and twice we agreed to meet but he stood me up to my benefit because at the end, I sold the parts for what I wanted. Bump for this thread

As pointless as the link posted is, so is your comment. Because of the gear ratios of the two transmissions in question, being able to discern between the two would be HIGHLY unlikely, even by the most experienced tech. I speak from PERSONAL experience when I say that the method used is FAULTY because you cannot measure accurately the number of turns of the diff compared to that of the input shaft.

And secondly, PLEASE do not question another persons intelligence when yours is "lacking"... "Classis" = classes, I think?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by MatHadder &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> You really dont need to know the gear ratio out to three decimal places to tell the difference; it is significant.

In this case, YES, that decimal point is a major concern given the ratios being "relatively" close, comparatively. And you should have pulled the tranny apart before posting this...

And yes, R_status should hold up to his end of the agreement by meeting with you, Which it sounds like he has tried.

Look, Im not trying to flame or even become "sided" in this... i just think that there were steps that could've been taken to either, prevent this cituation, or present SOLID proof that infact you have and S80-LS rather than an S80 GsR.
