help me pass smog
my car failed smog two days ago so i need to identify the problems to fix. i am only doing this the legal way.
the engine is pretty much bone stock, save for a dc 4-1 header and aem cold air intake. i had a valve adjustment and oil change the day before the smog.
the car is basically running rich as hell and it sends out black smoke when i hit vtec. also, the check engine light is either not functioning or is somehow turned off.
gas mileage has been pretty crappy even when i drive it softly, therefore my guess is that its a faulty o2 sensor.
my apologies for the large image. all input is appreciated.

What year is your car? Acura has had some recalls for catalytic converters, etc. There is a recent thread in the Integra forum. You could have clogged injectors or a bad primary O2 sensor.
This is the thread that I saw:

It is a recall for 96-97 Integras.
Your original warranty has expired on a 2000. The CEL should illuminate when the key is in the run position before the engine is started.

The high HC (hydrocarbon) means the car has poor combustion, unburned fuel.
The car may have a misfire, so the O2 sensor will send a signal to the ECU to richen the mixture, so your can still run under all conditions.
Have you done a complete tune-up lately; e.g. plugs, wire, caps, rotor, etc.?
The P1259 code is VTEC system malfunction, which could be caused by various things.
To pass the smog test, you also need to get rid of the OBD codes. Yeah, your "Check Engine" light should have came on, so a bulb or something may be blown.

OBDII should diagnose any misfire. A misfiring injector will unbalance the stoichiometry in the cylinders, where some are rich and some are lean.
