ok i was driving my car all night...no prbs..i get to the a drive thru....and my car like starting dimming...and turned...off....i would start...for like a sec and turn off..i kept trying to turn it on but it woundt start my battery isnt dead...???...and i push started it and i started ok...got home....turned it off for a sec...and turned it on and it turned on first time...??? ne 1 have this problem..

 

Sounds like it might be the alternator.

 

Sounds like it is in fact the alternator-- or the connections on the alternator (and BATTERY!!) are corroded and need to be cleaned. Once the battery charge is depleted the car will not run right. Check the terminals and grounds before you buy an alternator, and get your battery on the charger quick.

 

BTW- the battery can produce enough voltage to operate the radio, and horn etc. but it will not crank without a full charge or replenishing the cranking amperage through the alternator... it will read 12volts but not be powerful enough to turn over the engine.

Check/clean your grounds to the body, engine, and the negative terminal on the battery, and make sure your positive side connection is clean and tight on the starter too.
