Well not sure if im posting this in the right place but this is the section i like the most.

OK, if there is anybody reading this that is located in Maryland, do not go to the shop IMPORT SPORTS in Glen Burnie, MD. They will rip you off anyway they can. My friend let them do a GSR swap into his 00 civic coupe, they gave him a LS tranny and a SOHC Vtec ECU. I have another friend who got a Prelude Si tranny from them and they said it was fine when it was missing 3rd gear completly. Just recently one of my friends went to get his NOS kit installed, they told him it would take a day, and it took them 4 days if you count SUNDAY, and charged him $400 just to install it. This is the worse shop in MD and the only thing they care about is there own cars. They will take out your AC when doing a swap and tell you it doesnt fit, and keep it for there selfs and sell it. THIS IS A WARNING DO NOT GO TO IMPORT SPORTS in Glen BUrnie, MD.

 

If you were smart enough.... the first time one of your friends got ripped off you should've gone back there. Its common sense. If someone rips you off you gotta be stupid for going back and giving them more business. Do the smart thing and just dont go anymore instead of complaining.

 

it wasnt me going back there, it was different people. The swap thing came last thats what made all of my friends never go there again.

 

Places like that give us all a bad name

 

Yes, just don't go back.... That way people who consider it in the future will hav emisconceptions about the service they will likely receive.

its all business..as messy as it is..most speed shops are in for in for the short haul..they ll make what they can..and then in a couple of years, the doors will be closed up with soap d up windows...learn to do the work on ur own and learn from others..good parts at good prices are hard to find..installers are dime a dozen

 

Was the Sohc (P28 i'm assuming) ECU atleast chipped to run the motor correctly? How do you know it's the LS tranny? If they ripped him off he should go back or get a lawyer or something. I did my swap myself, just because i don't trust any of the shops in my area.......

He bought a Quaife for a GSR tranny and when he went to instal it it did not fit, so they went to see if it would fit the LS tranny and it did. It was just a p28, we knew that was wrong when it would not go to 8k, thats what made us check the ECU. When he told them about the ECU he said we put that in. As for the tranny he said it was a GSR and we were not doing it right. The person who tried to put it in the tranny was a company called INLINE PRO, there a good shop and are known for doing good work. We thought that IMPORT SPORTS a shop that has been around for 15 years would back up what they did and fix it, but they are saying its are problem now. End of story we dont go there no more, and I try to warn other people before they go there.

 

That's f'ed up, Go back with a shotgun.......

report them to the better business buero (I suck at teh spelling). THats about all i can say, that and spread the word that they suck at teh cars!

 

i don't know if hte cops can do anything but i'd call them. just let them know what's going on and see if they can do anything. i know someone on here know how to contact the National Institute for Fraud. they will help you if you can got ahold of them
