I know how you feel. Some kid creamed my 5th gen H22 Accord when it was parked with his 88 Ford Ranger.

on a sadder note...that ******* sucks. good luck fixing it, and dont give up. id just sue him for every penny of the damage...even though that takes forever.

Begin the process of a civil case. That's the only way to force him to pay. I mean, of course, it would be nice if he just paid you upfront. I'm guessing if you don't want to make it a headache for the both of you, just get some estimates and see if he'll pay for it. If not, going to court is your only other option. And it could end up costing you some of the money that would go towards fixing the car. IE court filing costs ($100-200). Some states don't allow you to sue for court costs.

If the guy is like most guys in the navy, he'll have a decent amount of money saved up. I mean, they don't spend much when doing 12-16 month tours of the world. Depending on his rank, he could have anyhere from 13k-20k saved up each year.
