Idle problem on 97 v6
When the car is just idling, in either gear, it has an intermittent vibration. I've had a couple people look at it but can't figure out what it is. I've never experienced this on any Honda before and I've owned like 5. The car is a 97 with the 2.7 v6 and has about 115k on it.
Just wondering if anybody has any idea what this could be. It's not really a reliability issue, more of an annoyance because the car drives really smooth and I would just like it to idle smooth. Because it's damn near impossible to just sit in the car with it running because this vibration is so ******* annoying.
Any ideas would be great. Thanks.

One of your plug wires or plugs may be shorting out. Idle the engine, lean over it carefully, and listen for "zaps."
Another possibility is the idle air intake valve -- needs cleaning or replacement.
After that check the throttle position sensor. In both cases, you can unplug the unit and observe how the engine idle changes, if any.

Couldn't be the plugs because I had the free emissions tune up done at Honda and it had the bad idle before all that was done.
Is there a diagram that shows me where the idle air intake valve and the throttle position sensors are so I can check those?

Thought about that too. Maybe I'll look into that.

You could call up http://www.thehondapartsstore.com and find the proper engine diagrams for your car, which will show the parts in question. (Watch for the arrow showing the FRONT of the engine.)
