arts and crafts day
after 7 years of wear and tear, the carpet on my door panels was starting to fade. i talked to a local interior shop and they recommended i dye the fabric again considering it was still in ok shape, it had just lost the greyish charcoal color from years of sweat and sunshine. so i pulled the door panels off, mixed up a jar of charcoal fabric dye and airbrushed my door panels. actually turned out really good and matches the gray leather GSR seats better than the light gray did before. sorry i don't have any pics, but here is the interior before i dyed the carpet. you can see how it doesn't match he interior very well. i'll post after pics when i go to work tomorrow. later!
After the dye dried, did it leave a somewhat stiff fabric afterwards? I've never seen the dye come out good, it always ruins the fabric afterwards and makes it uncomfortably stiff and starchy.
after a few day, the fabric was soft again. as per the directions, i added a softener to the mix before i sprayed, and everything turned out great. i will post some pics soon, but the interior matches much better now!
