Default Trouble keeping rear end planted

hey guys,

quick question.

it seems like my car likes to kick out a lot when im cornering hard like on an off ramp or something i meen iam pushing the car but it just seems excessive to me what can i do to my suspension to keep my rear end planted. 94 CIVIC DX COUPE

i was thinking about getting a stock ex spoiler, dont know how much a stock spoiler would do though i dont want nothing super crazy high. also i thought a rear sway bar might help

right now my setup is

hayame 3 way adjustable coilovers i believe there 10k and 8k springs
front camber kit(i have the rear i just need to install it)
avid traction bar
strut bars front and rear
also i have azenias all the way around 195's i was thinking of stepping up the tire size a little as well.

thanks for reading the post it would be good to hear some input

adding a rear sway bar will make it more oversteer-friendly.
a spoiler isn't going to do much at onramp speeds.

you should definitely reduce the rear spring rate.

check your alignment, make sure the rear isn't toed out.

195-width Azenis should be plenty of grip, 205-width Azenis wouldn't hurt, though.

also, from a driving standpoint..
trailbraking or lifting the throttle abruptly WILL unweight the rear end and induce oversteer.
but you don't want a street car, on the streets, to be that twitchy.

Yup

Also make sure that your tire pressures in the rear are not too high compared tot he front pressure as this will add to your oversteer tendency. I wouldn't doubt that a lot of your problems stem from your driving style.

check the traling arm bushings in the back if its torn the car will tend to feel very loose.

i guess ill work on driving better. i probably have to stay on it more through the turn. but i guess you could only go so fast till your car cant handle going any further.

feel free to keep the replies coming

Are you letting off the throttle in the middle of the turn?

yeah.. considering you have no rear sway, and everything else seems ok,

i have a feeling its from your driving.

your prolly letting off the gas or pressing the brakes during a corner at high speeds.

adding a rear sway will make your rear end swing out even more than it already is.

i dont brake at all but sometimes ill let off if i feel the back end start to kick out. other than that i try to stay on it the whole time till the next straight away.

i guess by letting off a lil im letting all the weight transfer back to the front. therefore letting my rear end start to slide because of no weight being there.

i suppose you could get a front sway bar, and if you have one, a larger one maybe? that will induce some understeer.

make sure the rear shocks are not riding on the bumpstops.

add some more negative camber in the rear. check the toe in the rear, make sure there is not excessive toeout.

if the rearend kicks out you need to give it throttle to plant it again.

don't kill yourself.
