The newbie makes his first foray into imports...
Okay so I'm a total newbie at this import rodding thing. So I don't know any part numbers or anything like that.
Recently, I bought a '98 Honda Civic EX. What in the world can I do to this now? I was thinking that an engine swap would give me the best bang for my buck, but what engine? Should I forget this plan and go with some basic mods first? I'm just looking for general advice here, thanks in advance.

id say suspension first..start from the bottom up..then whats ur budget?...depends on what ur ultimate goal is for ur car..u can still do alot with ur existing motor
With that motor, I would just save up for a nice turbo...that is of course, after you do your suspension. Screw the body kit, fancy shmancy lights, and shift ****. Save that money for something that makes your car fast.

Okay that sounds good. I was going to tint my windows a wee bit to save my dashboard and to cool down the interior.
Any specific suspension recommendations? I was thinking about the Eibach Pros. Not the super lowering Sportlines. Anything with a good compromise between comfort and handling? Anything with the same comfort as stock? (possibly wishful thinking)
Thanks for the tips.
Oh, what turbo?

I don't think the sportlines are too low. I think a 2 inch drop would be good. Also be sure to get shocks with your springs, or else it will be really bumpy. You also might want to get a camber kit so your tires will last longer.
