Brakes
Ok so everytime i hit the break pedal my steering wheel vibrates violently. And the front of the car shakes back and forth so bad that even my passengers notice. So my question is is this the sign of a warped rotor. Or could something else be wrong. It didn't do this when i first got the car it has just started recently.
If you don't drive it much, rust on the rotors can cause it; or oil or grease or brake fluid leaking on to the rotors or pads. Check all that first, otherwise it is likely warped rotors. Do you do a lot of hard braking?
Brakes 101
Warped rotors can be caused by:
Oil on the rotors(hot spots) Don't touch the rotors or the brake pads when you are installing it. You have oil in your palms and fingers.
During the first 100miles don't brake as if you're racing in a track. You have to set it in.
Most new rotors (even good ones) might come warped. So replace or refinish it.
