do you have to drain the transmission to replace the passenger axle?

Default do you have to drain the transmission to replace the passenger axle?

The FSM says to drain it but unfortunately i will probably changing hte axle in an apartment parking lot so id really rather not drain the transmission if i dont need to.

this is a 90 si with a b16

nope... i changed my pass. axle and didnt drain nothing..
