I have a 95 accord LX and ever since I bought the car back in aug 06 it has a whinig pmup. Well I changed the pressure hose out for new, purged the whole system and completely cleaned out the reseviour tank. when I hooked it back up, and started it, it worked great, no whines, nothing.. but the next morning, I went out to start it and the whining is back and it's foaming in the tank.. It has to be letting in air somewhere but where??I dont see the rack leaking..

Any help would be appreciated!

Did you use Honda power steering fluid? Hondas use a special fluid in there power steering systems.

 

yes, everything was to spec, I am a tech at a shop, and I searched every tsb and tech note that I could come across. Even the dealer doesnt have anything on this.. this is why I am stumped..

the fluid is right, and everything was went over 3 times..

 

bump.. replaced cooler, still whines...might try another pump..any other ideas??

I would guess it's the pump, but I could be wrong.

 

New pump. I had the same problem. Replaced pump(1st time)...rack...hose...resovoir...Had to replace the pump a 2nd time.

Pretty sure its the pump./
