There should be some screws in the bottom of it that mate the mirror, and body of the mirror, to the mount (where it screws on your door.) Take a look at the other side of your car and see if you can understand it by looking at that. Also, above your door panel, on the inside of where your mirror is, there should be a little black cover that goes over the bolts holding the mount to the door. Hope that was understandable.... gl

i mean the interior rear-view mirror at the centre, mounted at the map light.

i think i got it figure out, but not sure if it's correct. i removed the map-light essembly and screws..but the plastic cover (with no screws and anything) is still blocking the access to the mounting screws adn plate. how do i get that off? do i just yank it out with force? i don't want to break anything nor wraping the lining around the plastic cover.

Thanks.

Ha go figure thats one of the first things I did when I got my new 99 lude...rear view mirror fell out and it was a mystery to figure out how to tighten it...you have to pry the cover off....theres clips in there so it slides into place one way or the other..don't really remember... used a flathead screwdriver and just kind of tweaked it gently till I figured out where the clips were to pop it out....then its self explanatory from there...you have to unscrew the dome light assembly and what not and ...don't worry...its simple. Just be gentle with the cover!
