shift faster and make better time now? Be sure you dont have any **** around the throttle body. I helped fix my friends civic that was wide flippin open all of a sudden after gettin back from a drive. seems liek same scenario. HE claimed he never floored it when it was off, but must have, because we took off his intake "arm" thing and we could see the throttle plate thingy wide open. unbolted it, took off all the ****, cleaned it really good with carb cleaner, and now it springs right back. It had all the oily soot **** from the valve cover breather all over the pivots. Might wanna check this out. hope i helped.
You have a vtec buildup. Take it out and go full throttle up and down your street and burn some of it off.

Check your gaskets on the throttle body and intake manifold. Sounds like you have an air leak somewhere.

this happend to my ls motor after i changed to oil the motor would idle at 4000 rpm, i messed around with the idle screw and loosened up the throttle cable a bit.
thanks for the help everyone but it is still stuck at full throttle.. does anyone else have any other suggestions?? could it be the throttle position sensor?
my motor was running fine too before this happend. when you shut off the car is the throttle body fully closed or is it stuck open as if it was idleing @ full throttle? another thing i did was clean the throttle body with carb cleaner.
yea thats how my car was too, checked the vaccum lines, cleaned the throttle body messed with the idle screw and got it to drop a bit but it was still idleing at 2500rpm and the last thing i did was adjust the throttle cable and it was fixed. just loosen up the throttle cable a bit your not gunna hurt anything and if it doesnt work just tighted it up again.
did you check the idle screw yet...just go all the way in and start the car if it doesnt start open a little...then keep doing it till it starts...you know if its all the way closed and it starts its leaking somewhere
either your intake manifold gasket or throttle body gasket is leaking,,or you have a huge vacuum leak..I dont know what else
im pretty sure you got all 53 post just from this one thread also............
but
check your idle screw, check intake manifold and TB gaskets. Double check your vac lines.

you sure you dont have a rock stuck on the throttle body? take of the intake and check man or it could be the tps if its not adjusted correctly check it green is grond red is constant five bolts orange is from .01 to 5 bolts depending on throttle position adjust it to .45 bolts on the orage wire..
