JDM problem
i dont know if this has been covered before but anyway i'll just ask.
does anyone here know if you convert to JDM front will insurence cover your car when you get into an accident ?
coz from what i know JDM metal bumper is pretty thin and it will not pass safty in US or canada. if the car cant pass safty test i do think insurence have the rights not to pay for the damage.
can anyone confirm this ?

yes for 2 reasons...
1 They are OEM parts. Insurance MUST cover OEM parts.
2 Its considered bolted on. In the same way your spoiler is covered if it gets ripped off.
And its not the thickness that makes it illegal. The RX7 has paper thin fenders. Its the lack of a front 5 MPH bumper...

Its a yes and no answer, it may be oem, but oem for japan not for the united states, and they dont make it here is because of the bar you talk about, it doesnt pass safety tests so we get the four eyed monsters on all 94 up integras. In my GS-R i had a jdm front end on that and when i got into a accident it wasnt covered except for all stock usdm parts.
You could possibly get it insured, if you told the insurance company you have an aftermarket front bumper fenders headlights etc, but that would prolly bump up your insurance rates and even then they might check it to make sure its up to safety but i doubt it.
