need help car wont start

i need help please. i just put in a d16y8 into my 89 civic dx but it wont start it cranks but it wont start. sumbody told me it could be the timing. wat do u guys think it could be everything is plug in right. thanks in advances i really appreciated

Things to check...

1. Fuel, fuel pump running? Injectors getting fuel?
2. Power, Any spark?
3. Do you have correct firing order? In other words, spark plug wires connected correctly?

Check all 3 then repost
