Default Want to box/silence my compressor cheap, any ideas?

Any pointers for making a cheap and easy box or any type of silencer for an air compressor? I barely use mine at home because it's so loud and don't want to annoy the neighbors too much, but I've become so accustomed to them at work I hate not using them. I dont use it much, and it's always off unless I'm using it, so something ghetto could work as long as it doesn't burn down or something. Maybe a small box that I could throw around the motor when I'm using it, and just take it off when not. I dont know.

If this is a larger one, not a 5 gallon... There should be an easily recognized muffler on it. You should be able to disconnect it, add some pipe in, and extend it away from the compressor. Then you could create some sort of silencer for it. A bucket of sponges, rags, etc.... Just a thought. That or build a box around the whole thing with insulation around it....

I rolled mine into a cabinet space that was comfortably larger than the compressor and lined it with dynamat. Then ran air hose around the garage to a couple of points where I have release fittings to attach other hose when I am working.
