New exhaust I made for my M-2
Mid Pipe:

I tore open the muffler in order to remove the 2.5" inlet & stick a 3" pipe over the inside pipe:

Welded it up: Man, I had some pretty WIDE gaps! On the areas where the seams were very tight I was able to get a very flat & nice weld. Other places I had to bridge a nice gap on thin material..

Mocked up the muffler:

Its done! V-band!

DONE: * a tad crooked

I'm starting to learn to trouble shoot my own welding, so I can adapt to problems I'm having ;-)
I should have sanded off all of the aluminized coating from the pipes on the muffler, but I got lzy & just zapped it..
And, im not gonne lie! I had a muffler shop mount my muffler because it was just going to be impossible to line it up myself. I did however make the small brackets

Hey man, that looks good! I like the modded factory muffler.
Filling in large gaps with MIG on thin sheet metal is a pain. It'll never come out looking good.
