What Engine is this?
I was looking at cars (cuz I'm looking for a daily driver) and found this rex for sale. I looked up the specs and couldn't find a '91 CRX with 16valve engine stock.
Is this a swapped motor?
Edit: The car is a '91 CRX and the VIN number says it should be a 1.5l

Yes it is a 1.5l. It should be a D15B2, out of a CRX DX. ~ 100 horsepower I believe.
They are dual-point fuel injected rather than multi-point and 16 valve is the most common. Only the HFs are 8 valve (70 horsepower)

wow. that thing is seriously clean.. im not sure if that is the stock steering wheel though. i know that 3 spoke steering wheel on civic hatchbacks only came on the si. i dont know which crx's had that 3 spoke wheel.
to get your engine bay to look like that spray it all with simple green then hit it with a pressure washer the spray it all with armor all. i used to detail cars. you can make almost any engine bay look like that.

I detail cars too and to get an engine to look like that, it takes a whole hell of alot more than just spraying it with simple green if it's dirty. I used Car Kleen professional detailers degreaser and a soft bristle brush to get engines that clean. Believe me, it takes a whole hell of alot more than just spraying an engine to get it to look like that. But tire shine definately helps...lol
Also, everyone's right. That is the D15B2 engine and it's 90 HP. My DX came with the same one. DPFI and all.

well i guess the key is a damn good pressure washer then cause i never used a brush or spent more then 5 mins on a engine bay and i could get them to look that nice. but then again my old job had a 7000 dollar pressure washer. that cars probably alot cuase you can tell its at a dealership and it came from adesa so theres no telling where its been.

Ok guys sorry to kind of thread jack but i've got that same motor in my 91 civic hatch, and i was wondering what the power output is on mine. I'm pretty sure mine is just a standard since it's a 4 speed but i've got that same exact motor as is shown in the picture.... I was wondering if someone could let me know what power it's rated at? thanks

END THREAD JACK: That is one CLEAN car there. Must be nice having a honda that wasn't raped by salt.

The STD has the exact same motor but the DX's have a 5 speed tranny and the STD's have a 4 speed in them from the factory.
92 @ 6000 HP
89 @ 4500 TQ.
Also that rex looks clean as hell. Depending on the asking price, if it's reasonable, i'd take it and run, Clean unmolested CRX's are very hard to come by especially on the east coast. That's my .02.
