Does a 4 gen H22 header fit a 5 gen H22? I'm swapping a 97' H22a5 to my 4 gen Prelude (2.3), and I'm wondering what kind of exhaust system to use? Could I use a complete setup from 4 gen Prelude (header, downpipe and so on..) with this engine? Or do I have to use the 5 gen header and downpipe, and will this mount to the rest of the 4 gen exhaust system?

 

length of downpipe is different.....you can use the header and downpipe from the 5th gen, but it wont bolt up, you'll have to go to an exhaust shop........i'm sure if you're looking for a stock header you could find someone on here will a stock 4th gen h22 header that would sell for cheap and that would bolt to the 5th gen motor and your stock exhaust i believe

Uhmm I think you read his post wrong. He's putting a 5th gen motor into a 4th gen prelude. The down pipe length issue comes up if you're trying to put a 4th gen header into a 5th gen prelude, or a 5th gen header into a 4th gen prelude.

The 4th gen H22 header will bolt up fine to the new motor.
