Default 250hp=12s 1/4 mile?

so i wanted to get more feedback to prove my friend wrong. he thinks if he builds his sedan civic w/ a b15 engine to 250hp tuned all motor, he will be running 12s 1/4mile at the track. on the other hand, i have a friend who has a 722hp DSM tuned(guys owns a performance shop) that runs 10.6s 1/4mile...

oh & 4 introduction...1st post on HT...i usually hang out at g2ic, since i own a db1 teg...thought i might try out HT...so hi every1

It is plenty to hit 12s all motor with 250hp.

I'm going to assume you mean't D15 considering the B15 doesn't exist. Youre friend actually thinks he's going to hit 250 whp N/A in a 1.5 single cam?

takes more than power to go fast at the track.

suspension, tires, engine power, gearing....etc

^^^^ Agreed.

250 NA in a single cam will be hard and VERY expensive.
VERY!!!

But a 200WHP car would run 12's with good suspension and slicks.

250 will be plenty. And if you have the money, easy to achieve all motor. Think of all the bolt-ons for engine performance, and then internals? You wouldn't even need suspension, just a nice set of slicks. And he can always swap heads if needed, cam and valve springs, high compression pistons. And he has Great Success!!!

i'd like to see you try and run 12's on a stock suspension.

250 in a single cam is a challenge. If your all motor.
If your boosting it thats easy.

yes, d15 sorry...but yeah, i thought it definitley took more hp, than that to run 12s...anyways...i beat him in my db1...i got a vid if anyone is interested

anyways here are our specs

1990 Acura Integra GS sedan
-BONE STOCK (quite a long list hey?)
-stealies
-new tires

1995 Honda Civic Sedan
-d15
-bad head
-complete 3in exhaust system
-egay header
-COMPLETE MSD ignition set
-front mount intake
-egay coilovers
-test pipe

i got a bad launch from a dig(i lost to a stock CRX 10min before...i was off that night...& if you know me, which you don't you'd know i'm not some "blah blah blah, i miss-shifted" just to cover up for my car being slow). anyways...i really took his *** in 2nd gear...& we all know tegs way more than civics...+ my step bro who is a big guy was in my car ^_^ i thought the race was too close, but good

dont mean to burst your bubble but your buddy is not going to make 250whp with a D15. he would be lucky to make 150whp. dont bring up talk of bisi, your friend isnt bisi

haha front mount intake and 3 inch exhaust on a d15. well you are definetly not started in the the right directions for 250whp all motor.

It really doesnt take more than 250 whp to break a 12. Suspension would be a great idea though

I'm just saying that suspension isn't NECESSARY...but anyway, tell your buddy to hook up some spray to that bitch with his all motor parts. It'll be a little easier to get to that 250hp goal and a consistent 12 second pass.
