Question about front brake upgrade on 89 CRX Si (Type R big brakes)?
I installed the 90' Civic EX front knukles, prelude vtec rotors, and the accord wagon calipers on my CRX. Well on the drivers side after driving the car for about 100miles there is a section of the rotor that is closer to the lug nuts that seem to not be making good contact with the brake pad on the outside part of the rotor, haven't checked the inside yet. The section is about 3/8 of an inch and goes all the way around the rotor. I can tell theres a difference because the passenger side is making good contact and you can see the wear on the whole rotor equeally.
My friend had pointed out that the driver's side caliper was doing a slite pull out when you press on the brake pedal and not pulling equeally like the passenger side, but he didn't think that it was a big problem.
What do you guys think it could be and what should I do to fix it? Let me know if any of you all have swapped these brakes before and if anyone has had this kind of problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated. IF anybody has questions or need something cleared up just post the question and I'll try to correct my explaination. Thanks

i believe you need a spacer. if you search prelud brakes under the accord forum (where i am mostly, but just love your pocket rockets
) you should find a big thread debating on it. good luck

forgive me if this seems like a dumb question, but i'm a little confused. aren't the 4 lug prelude rotors bolt pattern 4 x 114 or something? i know the new ones are 5 lug so that is ruled out, but i always thought that ther 92-95 preludes had a different bolt pattern that the ef's, which are 4 x 100. so i guess my real question is, how did you get the prelude rotors to work?

THIS i am not sure of yet. According to HYBRID 4G garage the accord wagon/Type R calipers are a direct fit to the 90-91 EX knuckles. Is this correct?

the calipers are a direct fit i think the difference is that the rotor bollts up a little closer so you have grind the caliper a little to free up the brakes. i havent done this swap yet im just going by what i read.

using the Type R/Accord caliper allows for the use of the prelude VTEC rotor which is almost two inches bigger than the stock Si rotor.
