Default My Experience with KSports

So I received my Ksports through a local retailer and feared cranking rusted bolt on my hatch, but to my surprise it came undone SOOO easy yay!

Now I'm gonna start first off that these things are so nice and work really well. I ordered 12/10 spring rates and haven't moved the dampening from soft yet.

Secondly after me and buddy started to install these we immediately noticed something was wrong. Since I ordered custom spring rates and these are built at the factory you would think things would be put together properly even for a lower end coilover, but nope you'd be wrong, I highly suggest to anyone if you order these to go over them VERY carefully to make sure everything is put together properly: Washers were upside down, the dust boot needs to be secured properly and a few other things.

After all the little things and the car back on the ground and taken out for a drive, the stance and handling was very good considering I had gone from stock suspension in a ED to the Ksports.

Now comes my biggest complaint about the Ksports. The way they are setup for our ED/EFs isn't proper and we can only get so much drop before they bottom out. I have adjusted the spring preload so that there is a small amount of friction if I tried to turn the spring around by hand and when I adjust the threads to lower the car it will bottom out leaving you with about a 1 finger gap that is as far as you can go unless you want to change your preload.

Below are pics showing various things about them from stock suspension to the ksports to showing how much thread is left after the shock has bottomed out. Now if I have set these up wrong in some way then feel free to tell me but I can't see how.

In regards to this matter of the threads bottoming out I have sent a email to Ksport in reference to this and the improper reassembly of the coilovers.

Cheers.

So what are you saying basically, the Ksport's won't go any lower then that in the pics with the fender gap, and the parts are backwards and the locks on the sleeve's are messed up?.

it seems everyone on here lately is having problems with these...from what i have seen on here i wouldn't touch those with a 50 foot pole. i dont have a couple hundred to just throw away on coilovers too

that lower spring perch doesn't look like a very well thought out design. i dont have much experience with coilovers, but with the spring just resting on the tabs of that collar, it doesnt look like a very even distribution of the load from the spring. just my 2c.
