Default Here we go! Sedan build

ok mens. I just bought a 94 DB7 Integra LS for my first car! I am proud to be an integra owner and love driving her. Since this is my first car, I don't have much experience under the hood, however I have already fixed my idle being 1500->750 and some other miniscule things.

It is not a vtec

I have lurked forums for while and think that now is the time that I start my tuning.

I don't know what's a comfortable HP to have for a daily driver but still have lots of power. I was thinking around 220-250..but maybe you guys can help me out on that.
The thing is stock from head to the totally worn out hub caped toes .

Here's me looking like a dork when i first got it.

Performance wise:

Anyways, I have somewhat an idea of what I want to do to it. I've read that with my b18b engine, slapping a turbo on that sumbich would give me upwords of 230hp. Now I can get a turbo put on it, but tuning it with other parts to match is a totally different thing. So any help on what to do next would be appreciated!

Cosmetic wise:

I'm not going to go rice. I getting:

-98-01 front and back bumper swap.
-GSR factory wing or JDM ITR wing
-Front lip
-Sunburst Orange paint job
-some bronze rotas
-angel eyes

if its wingless keep it that way, and please dont get angel eyes. you can do a turbo or swap a gsr motor in it. however the price of the gsr engien would be enough to get a really nice turbo setup.

i think the back end of the teg is just way too big without a wing, but thats only on a 2 door, for the 4 door its alot less plain.

i mean that big slab between the door and the trunk. its just so big and plain. 2 doors need a spoiler to help break it up.

I think it looks so bland without a wing, who knows...maybe with the conversion it won't look as bad. Well do you think it would be best to just get a gsr swap then if it's going to cost as much as getting a good turbo?

Would the V-tec give me the horsepower I want? What's the point of getting the v-tec if I'm going to drop a turbo in it or swap a motor?

thanks for the replies

I agree with the wingless looking bland... I think it kinda ruins the body lines too, instead of continuing the gradual upward slope, it just kind drops off at the trunk and starts going down. Saw a pic with a type r wing, thought it looked great... i wouldn't ever do any of that ricer aluminum triple decker wing crap though.

If you want to put a turbo on, read up ALOT in the forced induction section... LOTS of research. If you want to make really big power, think about buying a GSR motor for a swap and building it up before throwing it in and slapping a turbo on it.

Yea, I was thinking maybe going all motor before putting a turbo in would be a better idea.

First off man.. Before you go out and buy the first part for yoru car, engine wise, you need to KNOW what you want and what you want to do with your car?

You want 250 hp to the wheels w/ a turbo setup? Awesome.

Do you have the money?
Are you prepared for the upkeep of a 250 whp turbo engine and realise that it isn't gonna last 1/4 of th elife of your engine if you kept it stock? Same applied for an uber expensive, high compression NA motor.

Do you even NEED 250 whp? Granted, none of us NEED to do anything with out cars, but we do it cause we like it. But even then, we have to be resonable and work within our means.

Join http://www.team-integra.net and READ. They have a plethora of information on evrey subject w/some very knowledgeable, in depth information and theory on engine building, especially FI engines.

Just know what you want and realize your at a disadvantage of sorts, starting w/an LS. But you have to work w/what you've got.

I say, put a b16 tranny in w/bolt on's to the engine, run 14's, make your car look how you want it too (you need a wing BTW, rear deck looks wayyyy too empty) and enj0y your ride

Thanks for the informative post!

I don't have the money currently to drop into a fat turbo so starting to switch parts with the engine seems more practical to me.

I am actually a member there to under the same user name, I love that site and their articles are so awesome!

Yes, definitely a 5speed. And she has just under 150k miles on it.

Welcome to Honda-Tech

Your goals sound very reasonable, and you can make them easily without swapping a VTEC head on, or doing a motor swap.

When you get to the point where you are serious about going through with the turbo project, you should drop by INTEC, they are the best Honda tuners in the state, and have plenty of experience when it comes to building reliable turbo motors for the street.
