97 Accord LX front motor mount access, plus intake question
Since I bought it in November, my Accord makes a sort of vibrating "wooorm" resonance around 2000RPM, give or take 250. I noticed it on the test drive, and at first the guy said he thought it was a loose exhaust heat shield, but later told me that his warranty garage said it was the front motor mount (I guess the through-bolt made it through the rubber and is resting on metal or something?)
I bought a Beck-Arnley replacement front mount, but for the life of me I can't get at the through-bolt. At first I tried it with just my 1/2-in drive ratchet plus whatever socket that bolt takes, but the head of my wrench would be angled away by the left cooling fan bracket. I bought a 3 inch extension and a universal joint, and now I can kind of get the socket onto the bolt head, but nothing secure enough to torque it loose. I've found topics in various Honda forums talking about how eeeeeasy the front mount is, but I think those were mostly CB7s, which apparently have much more open engine bays. Has anybody changed out a front mount on a CD5?
Also, I'm trying to figure out what intake or head mods work on an F22B2 (non-VTEC - I have an LX, not an EX, unfortunately). A friend who had a CB7 claimed that an H23 intake will go straight on to any F22 block, but I've found various posts here that say an H23 intake will leak coolant without a number of modifications if it's used on an F22B2/B2. I've also found claims that the F23A1 intake will work without any modification on an F22B2, or that there's no point in changing out the stock F22B2 intake. What's what here? I've searched this forum and other forums extensively but I just can't figure out what's correct for my specific engine.
All I've done to my car so far is a cheapo BOMZ CAI. I'd like to get some decent midrange gains (I have an automatic, unfortunately, so making the engine peaky will suck for everyday drivability), maybe in the arena of 10-15 hp/lb-ft, but I'm really not sure what's best for this goal. I'd like to keep my next mod under $150 or so, be it for the engine or for handling.

well certain years had a problem with the intermediate exhaust pipe joints vibrating at certain RPM.
but here is no way to look up TSB info by way of GEN crap or CD bullshit.

I've wondered if it's the exhaust, but the guy said it had an entirely new system put on when he bought it or shortly thereafter. I'm not sure if that means the whole entire system from the cat on back, or just the muffler. If I can jack the car up and have a friend keep the engine in the noisy-zone and find that it's coming from the exhaust, what could I do to silence the joints short of welding the seams or whatever?
