i just got done installing my CTR racing pulley but when i went to put the belt from the crank to the alternator the belt was to long. would i be okay to get a shorter one?
do they even make a shorter belt?
will my alternator suffer for having a shorter belt? (will it burn out faster)
will it affect charging capabilitys?
will i regret having this pulley on?
thanks.

Just go down to the autoparts store and get a shorter belt. Maybe use a length of string around the crank and alternator pullies to make sure you get the right length. Take the old belt with you so that you can get one with the right number of ribs on it. At any rate, having a shorter belt shouldn't affect your alternator's lifespan or charging ability. Though the affect of the pulley diameter may do so. I would imagine it's not a huge issue, though as the pulley is Honda factory equipment.

so with the CTR pulley im not going to have to worry about having my oil pump blow up on me. or is that another issue that i will have to address.
Oil pump??? Nah, that shouldn't be a problem. I would imagine that the only things that would damage the oil pump are excessive engine speed and huge (I mean really really freakin big) dents in the oilpan.

ive been researching the pulleys good vs bad
and ive read that it could mess up parts like the crank and some other parts up really bad.
still put it on against better judgement. but if i dont like it i can all ways take it off.

Interesting, after looking into it a bit, it does seem that people are having problems with shattering the oil pump drive when using the CTR pulley. I found a few links on it:

Since I'm still running a stock pulley (and a ZC engine) I have little experience to go on for this one. Maybe somebody else will chime in with their opinion on the CTR pulley.

Really you have to ask what's the pro and cons.
Pros
1 added hp at 8000rpm
“look dude I got a ITR pulley” cool points
Cons
Poor harmonic dampening
Possible engine damage
I run the stock pully

what i got from it is that the CTR pulley was just a reagular pulley with a dampner just with out the accesorie spots.
I remember someone having a discussion before about the D-series motors are externally balanced while other motor series, like the B-series, are internally balanced. But then someone else came in and said that all Honda motors were internally balanced. But I think that when ever you deviate away from stock parts that decreases the longevity of the motor, in general. Mainly because everything on a honda motor (or any motor hopefully {except pontiac}) is engineered to work together. Then when you go changing weights and sizes of pulleys in an uninformed matter(not saying anyone is) then it can have negative effects and the life of the motor. Just like people who think they need to upgrade their fuel rail and injectors and get a new adjustable camshaft gear, you know what that does? Nothing if you have a stock ECU because your ECU is essentially returning everything to stock specification. This doesn't apply so much for OBD0 motors as it does for later OBD's. Oh yeah....but just get a shorter belt like the first guy said.
