Default b16 pistons in b18a block- piston-to-deck height changes?

im gonna be using je forged pistons in my LSV build that were originally meant for the b16 motor...now when i went to the c-speed calculator it showed the b16 block having a .02 PDH and the b18a having .03 PDH...if im running the b16 designed pistons will my PDH be .02 or .03?

if im mistaken, what did i miss?

Does JE actually make a different piston for each application? You need to know the compression height of the piston.

Some of these calculators use a different block height than what people actually experience. The engine really needs to be trial assembled to get the real measurements. The compression calculators are good for ball park measurements but you still need to actually measure to be correct.

The only way to really tell for sure is to assemble it and measure man. Wrist pin height is the same on all of them as far as I know. When I assembled mine, it was an uncut block and the pistons set .007 in the hole untouched.

thanks for the info
the part that confused me was the difference in height between the b16 and b18 blocks.

The deck height difference with all OEM gear (matching OEM gear) is just the way they are made.
