HF is burnin' oil, what swap may be the easiest??
I currently have an HF and she is starting to smoke pretty good, about a 1/2 quart a week. So...I am seriously considering a swap and wondering which power plant may be the easiest to do without having to search for a bunch of odds and ends parts to "make it work". Looking to go with a B16A1 probably, but I would like some more opinions. Thanks. I can get one with 42,xxx miles with tranny, ECU, axles, and clutch cable for $1500. Is this a good deal?

Ive been wrenching on cars all my life, built my first race engine when I was 14, just not honda's. I got tired of the chevy 350's and mustang 5.0's. I thought I would venture into somthing that handles the road courses and can keep up with the V-8's on the street.
I would drop a 350 in it, but i want better than 10mpg. lol

Then you of all people should know you can make a domestic handle.
my 350 gets me around 20 and lays over 300 *shurg*
Really it is up to you, but you have enough to just edge a well *legit and propper* B series 16 or LS.
OR you'll have enoguh for any D you choose and money left over.
As far as the easiest swap a sohc zc/ euro a6/ SI motor will be about as easy as it gets.
You have to tell us what you want out of the car for us to help you.

Is the B16A1 the easiest compared to a...B18 or a B16A3??
I checked out the website, and thank you, looks like an excellent site. Looks like what I have been searching for.

b18 is same other then vtec wiring, all 3 of them lol.
the b18a/b debate over a b16 is endless.
Frankly i think the best daily setup, is a b18a/b with a b16 tranny.
As far as B swaps they all are on the same level of trickness mostly, and you are versed in cars so non of them should be difficult to you.

I would like to get 13.5's in a 1/4 mile, be able to run the mid-ohio road coarse, and still get 30-40 mpg

It's doable with any of those motors, using a 1.8 as a starting point has it's upsides.
Money not being an issue you might want to look into a GSR swap then b18c1.

That's what I was wondering, considering the B18C3 is stock 200hp, or the 170hp B18C1, but then the B16A1 is 160hp. Is the 1.8 block the same size and the 1.6? Because I am going to put a Paxton Novi 2000 supercharger on this. I need as much space in the engine bay as possible, and I dont want to go to a half radiator.
