Default I think I moved my timing marker? AHHH!

About 6 months back I was adjusting my timing and my cousin wanted to know what it is i'm doing or looking at. Stupid me pointed at the timing arrow using a magnetic pickup thingy (If you drop a screw in a small spot, you extend the thingy with a magnet at the tip to pick the screw up) and I'm 99% sure I ended up moving that arrow. I say this because now when I go to adjust my timing, I can no longer match the timing arrow with the other half you are supposed to line it up to.
Normally I'd have to stand almost directly above and I could see both markers line up to the timing marks on the crank pulley. Now if I want to match the markers up I have to stand at an extreme angle to the right with the timing light which I swore I never had to do. If I adjust timing accoording to the markers now, the car runs like crap.. Have I done a big booboo? How do I adjust the lil arrow back to where it should be? Is this something only honda could do? I know the arrow is movable/rotate-able since it looks like its on some sort of small wheel thingy thing. Do I make sense?
I have the timing right now adjusted as advanced as I can (I guess) get but RIGHT before there is any pinging or knocking. There's no other way for me to do this. So in english, I keep advancing the timing untill the engine decides to knock when I give it a quick throttle burst. When it knocks, I just retard it a little. Please help!

Thanks in advance!

lol are you trying to tell us that you putting a magnet by the crank pulley, the lines are going to move? the lines that are on the crank pulley are slotted and then painted. i highly doubt a magnet did that unless u have magic

are you sure your belt didn't skip a tooth? did you try lining up the cam gear and crank at tdc to see if its all gravy?

Man people still post in automotiveforums.com?

I mean the actual arrow that you have to line up the slotted marks to when using the timing mark. There's 2 arrow things you have to match up to make sure you're looking down at the correct angle. One is an actual arrow and the other is for you to make sure you're looking at the arrow at the right angle.
The "V" is what I moved... I know honda would charge up the *** for something as small as this. I'll check the belt as well since my car is missing and backfiring like crazy as well. I would have never thought jumping teeth was possible. Its possible I guess.. My timing belt is still the original one as well. Has about maybe 90,000 miles on it as well. Time for a new one huh... Could maybe also the fact that im using a converted ECU from auto to manual be a problem? It just never did this (misfire and backfire) when I first did the swap and used the auto ecu for a week with no problems and no codes... The usual tuneup stuff is all replaced as well. Timing arrow things kinda look like this

So what you're saying is, you hit the arrow on the timing belt cover? Easy fix, change it. But that's not why you're miss firing. Check and make sure your cams and crank is TDC. Then post back...good luck!
