My 9 month build Civic hatch and going..... Still needs lots of work!
Present:4/20/07
Starting to do the body work. The fender with the name Bruce on it is nice and primed. body work on the driver side 1/4 panel done. only need to do the passenger side now! then going to prime the whole car!!! Oh and interior is back in with tan GSR leather seats!
Well, to start off it took so long b/c my brother and I didn't have the money all at once to get everything we needed. Also, this was our first swap ever! Didn't even know where to start. Its a white 92 civic cx hatch, it had around 118,xxx miles on it.. Its actually my brothers car but I did most the work with help from our friend, Monee.
First off, funny story on how we aquired the car. While driving around our town we saw the civic sitting in some random dudes driveway. I then told my brother to go see if the car was 5-speed and if so, go and knock on the door to see if the guy was selling it. Well, as you can tell from this thread it was 5-speed and the guy was selling it. Luckily enough he was in the process of trying to sell it. Anyways, finally bought the car from him about a month later cause the dude still needed the car. The car was in kind of bad condition. Quarter panels had rust, which rusted through, and so did the hatch. Also, had dents here and there.
Another funny story, well when I took the motor out I only had two semi-working ratchets, both now broken, and one of each size 10, 12, 14, 17, 19 sockets. And somehow managed to take the whole motor out. That was pretty much all i needed.
Picture of how it started off.
Pix of car with rust bondoed up. Still had right fender but was taken off b/c it ws dented.

Stock engine(cx, had oil leaking from somewhere)

Driver side shot with passenger seat taken out.

Some of the interior taken out.

Shot of the bondoed 1/4 panel.

Don't really have much pix of us taking the old motor out and putting the new one in. But here is how it looks...
A shot while still putting everything back together again.

Shot of the motor.(engine bay was pretty much black when we got it but my brother cleaned most of it w/ exeption of the firewall.)

Really nice shot of the motor!

Finally finished with the swap.

Will put up more pictures of the whole car soon. With hopefully a little more work done to it. And just waiting till May 2nd for the track to open and see what its got.

haha.. The things got *****. Love the torque on it. He forgot to mention that it has a rebuild head and the motor is clean as hell.
Hey Kong, I have a confession for you and Bruce. When my bro cleaned the head for you guys, I did a new valve job and put in new seals... Surprise!!
