Default QUESTIONS...HONDA MTF? and CLEANING MY BLOCK..DSERIES BUILD

yesterdAY the d16z6 was pulled out of my 91ef...pulled trans and clutch off pulled harness off and pulled header off...and put it on the motor stand...i wraped a grocery bag around the distributor and taped it up....i put rags inside the exhaust holes and tape over it...i put a wrag in the TB....i then degreased it and squirted it off....then with a wire brush cleaned the block...

IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD BE WORRIED ABOUT?SENSORS?

WHAT IF WATER GOT INTO THE EXHAUST HOLES?

OR IF DIRT GOT IN THERE?

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN CAR STARTS WILL IT ALL BLOW OUT?

CAN GETTING WATER IN THERE LOCK UP MOTOR?

just worried about if anything got into the exhaust holes or what if the sensors got wet

and HONDA MTF i want to use it on my 91 crx si trans? any special wieght? does mtf come in weight? what do i say when at the dealership?\

thanks sorry im a newbie at all this stuff

As far as the MTF goes, it's one weight, just go to the Honda Dealer and ask for how ever many quarts of Honda MTF you need (I'm guessing three)

Honda mtf does not come in weight. And its really hard to say about the water, depends on how much got into the engine. Unless you squirted directly into the holes, I doubt you got enough in there to do anything. I like to clean my engine, then dry by hand , then start it up. Anything I can't dry by hand will dry with the warmth of the engine.

ok so the mtf is covered

im just worried about the water and dirt? ive heard of water locking up motors but usually its sucked in threw the intake into the head...as long as my valve cover was on with a gasket THERE SHOULD BE NO WAY WATER GOT IN?

and if dust got in threw the exhuast holes can it hurt?

just need some assurance im worried bout the motor getting put back in and dirt and water messing something up?

There is only one honda MTF now.

if your worried you got water in your cylinders tip it on its side with the exaust facing down and crank it over a few times and see. Put it somewhere warm so it will evaporate , not puddle and rust things. if you have a wet dry shop vac you could use that to suck out dirt and water first

ok thanks for the ideas

the only place water or dirt could have got in is the exhaust holes...the dist. was covered so was the tb...the valve cover was on with a gasket...sparkplug holes were covered....IS THERE ANYWHERE ELSE I SHOULD LOOK AT OR LOOK FOR IF IT GOT WET?

SENSORS? What will happen if they got wet?
