Civic CoilOvers on Accord Shocks...?
well i have a set of civic coilovers laying around and i have a stock 95 ex as a daily driver...so i thought id give it a drop...would the civic springs fit on the accord shocks both front and back..
thanks
thanks
dunno if it would fit but im pretty sure the ride quality would suck since the weight of an accord vs civic is totally different
even if i had to buy some new coilovers for the accord they would be the 40 dollar ones off ebay..so i dont think there would be a difference...lol
if you MUST drop it, then get springs for your car. you will most likly either ruin the springs or the shocks with that.
Personally, I wouldent trust my life to some ebay crap cause i'm too cheap to buy real parts. Save up and get good components on your car.

Suspension is the most important part of a car, no matter what kind of driving you do. (Not counting brakes.)
Do not cheap out on your suspension, you could die. Save up some money and get springs, and an alignment afterwords.

i appreciate you guys teaching me how to go about "modifying" my car, but thats not wat i was looking for. i know some stuff on ebay are cheap and some are not. i choose not to care. as for the shocks on the car they are already blown not much worst can happen there. this car is just a DD i drive to work and school. so i thought it would be cool to give it a lil drop since i had the coilovers just sitting around...
im still looking for the answer to my original question..thanks

first off..I highly doubt it..2nd off save your 40 bucks and change your oil or something..dont waste it on 40 dollar coilovers off ebay..you may think oh well it will do the drop and you may think your shocks are busted but just wait till you put those coilovers on it..you will be bouncing around all the time..which can cause suspension parts to bend(trust me it happened to me)..therefore you will have to spend hundreds of dollars getting new suspension parts..it will never ride good with ebay coilovers period! no matter what shocks you have...save up and buy some tein coilovers if you want some good ones or some ground control coilovers with koni yellows..might be expensive but its well worth the money!
find out the diameter of accord springs and compare it to your civic springs. chances are they will be the same and will fit. there, that answer your question
will it work is a different story, civics are alot lighter then accords, meaning lower spring rates. assuming the lowering springs arent half assed engineered and do feature higher rates to accomodate the drop, it should be similiar to your stock accord rates.
but then we run into the problem of near stock spring rates with a lowered ride height. which is almost like cutting your stock springs to being with and will cause problems such as bottoming out your suspension.
this is a bad idea that's only going to get worse. you have blown shcoks, which is a hazard already, and you want to throw on springs with questionable quality and wrong spring rates for your car.
whether you do it is up to you.

He obviously doesn't care what happens to his car....if you want to lower your car for free, just heat up the springs until they compress to your desired ride height.
Disclosure: I am not responsible for your medical bills and/or damages caused to your car, nor other parties injured when your **** breaks because you did it the cheap way.

does that seriously work???? i've heard of drifters heating up and then cooling their stock rear springs to make them stiffer, but not to lower them.

yea it works..ive seen people do it before..I didnt think it would work either..but you can take a blow torch or something to the shocks..and wham your car is lower..but will probably be uneven on all sides lol

I cant wait to see this guy running back to honda tech with suspension problems..civics are lighter therefore springs rates are different...so your accord is going to be putting a lot more weight on them which=suspension problems..plus they are from egay which means they are off-brand and are going to ride like ***
