Default 205/55-14 nitto drag radials good for 225whp+?

I have a 2050lb crx with a turbo d16 that make 225whp. I am going to eventually have about 300whp when I put my new motor in. I was wondering if 205/55-14 nittor drag radials would hook up pretty good at these power levels at the track. Also, do they hook ok on the street at normal tire pressure? I don't street race; but, will probably have them on my car all the time since I only drive about 500mi a month and sometimes like to play around a little from a roll and my current 205/40-16s just spin when punched from a roll.

They'll hook decent for 225whp. BFG's would be better but the Nitto's seem to last longer. At regular tire pressures (30+psi) and cold, they are marginally better than street tires but not much.

cool thanks. Will 225/50-15 bfgs be good for upto ~300whp? should I just get those instead?

Yes, you should get the 225's instead. Their tread life is limited but they work better and they don't cost much more than the Nitto's.

will the 225/50-15s fit alright on a crx? what offset? I was thinking of getting some 15x6.5 rota slipstreams w/ the 38/40mm offset.
