OBD1 jdm p72 = usdu p72?

Default OBD1 jdm p72 = usdu p72?
is the pin layout the same for OBD1 jdm p72 and usdu p72?

i just swapped the jdm one in and am running a check engine light now. i looked into it and it's the knock sensor. i'm thinking either the pin layout is different or the timing is off. anyone know?
