Paint Rims????
Well i just picked up some rims from a junkyard for a 100 bucks with tires. They are the rims that come with the special edition tegs, but the thing is 3 of them are bronze which i like and one is silver. My question is is spray painting a good idea cause im kind of broke, i was thinking of spray painting them all black, any input would be great thanks

Yeah, this is possible. The ideal route would be to powdercoat; but if you're short on cash you can do this. I'm not sure what kind of paint you would use. A lot of people do this on Honda-Tech; I would search around.

what i did was.
600 grit sand.
stage 4 steel wool. ( 2nd finest at home depot)
1000 grit sandpaper.
Primer ( optional, but paint sticks better)
sanding if nescessary.
3-4 lthin layers of paint.
2-3 thin layers of clearcoat...
Balance
Also before i sanded, to get rid of some curb rash, i put some epoxy putty on the curb rash, and after it dried. I sanded it down with a belt sander to match the look of the wheel. LOOKS GREAT NOW.

hmm I wonder if I went to the store and asked for "regular *** paint" what kind of look the sales person would give me
Do you spray paint your hind quarters with that paint?
sorry when I read that, it just sounded hilarious

use paint remover to remove your old paint. works much better than sanding. a dremel would take 5 years and scratch the hell outta the aluminum.
Paint remover, wash WASH WASH WASH, dry with lint free towel, put in oven at 250 for about 15-25 mins.
While you're painting one rim, you can put the other in the oven. When you're done painting one, the other one is ready to come out of the oven. It's a good system.

if i was u i would just sand down all the rims and re paint them to make sure they r the same color bronze. i use to have the SE rims too but i painted mines flat black they where clean but since your cars black you should try to find a kind of dark color bronze and it should come out good. post a picture when you done
